I created for you a new year’s resolutions list prepared after a lot of research and analysis of what people need and lack the most those days. We should all have goals and ambitions even if they’re small and simple, because they will become the purpose of our lives, therefore, it will be worth it to ‘Live’.

Before we start, I invite you to take a look at this LinkTree where you will find useful resources that can help you change your life and become a better person. CLICK HERE TO GET ACCESS TO IT.

14 New Year’s Resolutions Ideas That You Must Add To Your List:

  • Start eating healthier food: It may be tricky when we are surrounded by cheap junk food, but with little determination and visualization of what your life would look like if you had a healthy body, your mind will automatically avoid bad habits. You can of course eat some fast food if you can’t resist, but manage it well and don’t eat more than two sandwiches a month.
  • Be more productive: The secret to productivity is organizing your to-do lists (read the resolution below) and learning how to keep distractions away. Instead of wasting time scrolling on Instagram watching other people live their best lives, why don’t you actually stop this and start living YOUR best life?
  • Become more organized: This is linked with the previous resolution, you should organize and plan every minute, spend half an hour per day at night or morning planning and customizing your timing, write a list of achievable tasks that you want to do for the next day, don’t exaggerate with the difficulty of your tasks so that you will tend more to complete them. You can do this on a physical planner or download a good one on your phone. I personally use Any.do on both my phone and pc and they’re synced together. It is simple to use and its beautiful layout makes you crave to complete more tasks. You can use it for free, but if you click here on my link, you can save 50% of your annual Any.do premium subscription which has more features that will boost your productivity and will make your plan more organized and beautiful, you will have 24h to cancel the subscription, but I’m pretty sure you won’t cancel it because you will fall in love with this app.
  • Improve your mental skills: As Jim Kwik said, “It’s not about mental intelligence, it’s about mental fitness.” you need to make your mind work and think hard from time to time in order to improve its skills. The brain is like a muscle, the more you work it, the stronger it will become. I advise you to try remembering things more, by this, I mean that you have to test yourself from time to time by trying to recall what you ate last week, or the lyrics of a song that you haven’t heard in a long time, or go read an article about something interesting then summarise it without looking at it and check how many points you remembered, you will notice radical improvements if you do this consistently.
  • Sleep better: You need at least 8 hours of sleep a day for better health, skin, mindset, energy…etc. Sleeping is the only way to improve a lot of things in our lives without making effort.
  • Get up earlier: in order to not be controversial with the previous resolution, I have to tell you that you need to sleep early and wake up early. Don’t overdo it, give yourself a day or two of break. I like waking up early because I finish all my big and hard tasks in the morning, then do the smaller ones, and spend the afternoon doing what I want. This applies to when I have a free day, I am a student so I don’t apply this every day, but I do it on holidays.
  • Dress Better: If you feel beautiful, you will be more positive and happier. Get inspired by your favorite influencers or friends and create a new look for yourself. You will feel fresh and reinvented.
  • Be more confident and do whatever you want with your life: don’t mind what people might think, know that life goes on and those people will go with it too, I am pretty sure that the person who bullied you at school several years ago is no more in your life right now, it’s the same thing for the people you know in the present time, apart from your real friends and family, everyone will vanish from your life someday and you will probably forget each other, so do whatever you want and let them speak behind your back if they want to, that’s where they belong after all; so far behind you.
  • Spend more time with people that matter: the year 2020 taught us that even a microscopic virus can deprive us of our loved ones at any time, in a matter of hours. We have to spend more time with our families and friends, enjoy their presence, love, and learn what they have to teach us before either life or death separate us forever.
  • Start a journal: Copy your thoughts, and paste them into a notebook. This will organize your ideas, improve your writing, discover yourself more, it will help you achieve more of your goals, relieve stress, boost your memory, and inspire creativity. Plus, there is nothing better than writing your dreams and goals in a journal, then after a couple of years you read what you wrote and tell yourself: “You did it”.
  • Make more money: There are plenty of ways to make additional money, you can use the internet to your advantage with side-jobs like freelancing, blogging, building a business online… etc, you will surely find something that will work for you.
  • Volunteer and give more to charity: Whatever or whoever decided our faiths, it/she/he gave us the blessing of being born under a roof, in a good country, and in good health. But plenty of others didn’t have this opportunity, children in Africa are dying because of simple diarrhea or flue due to the lack of a cheap medicine that may be now full of dust in your medication box. In the present time, we can help anyone in the world with two or three clicks from our beds, if you fear being scammed, then make a research about the charity first, but just do it at least once a year. Maybe the $1 you put into charity will save an innocent life, who knows?
  • Learn a new skill: make your life funnier, learn a new hobby, improve it, you will become a more interesting person, this will change your daily routine, and you will have more stories to tell your grandchildren.
  • Never stop learning: There is no ‘how to live better’ type of video or article where I didn’t find this advice, and it deserves the hype! “If knowledge is power, learning is your superpower” — Jim Kwik. Google is a blessing, read more articles and watch youtube videos about science, history, business, self-improvement, learn new skills as I said above, and never stop. Write down everything you learn in your journal or in a specific notebook or app, and apply it to your life.

10 Quick ideas:

  • Give up a bad habit or more
  • Start working out
  • Make new Friends
  • Preserve nature by volunteering to cleanups, you can reduce the use of plastic, preserve water, and also plant a tree somewhere.
  • Adopt a pet
  • READ MORE BOOKS!
  • Drink more water
  • Have a doctor visit once every 4 months
  • Erase fake friends and negative people from your life
  • Invite positive people and real friends more often to your house

Motivational Quotes

“Hope
Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,
Whispering ‘it will be happier’…”
Alfred Lord Tennyson

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”
Neil Gaiman
